Biography

Hi, my name is Griffin Davis. I am a digital artist and illustrator. I was born and live in Canberra, Australia. 

I am a trainee artist and enjoy doing contemporary illustrations, characters, landscapes, household objects and portraits. I like to work with pencil, acrylic paints, digital art, Wacom, clip studio, photoshop and digital art photography (people, objects, landscapes, places). 

My influences include Japanese pop art, Japanese calligraphy, IDW publishing comic books (action comic books) and, bright and emotional colours. I spend a lot of time listening to rock, calm lo-fi, pop and hip-hop music, I enjoy building clip-in Japanese plastic models, Japanese food, samurai culture, pop music, anime cartoons and shoji board game. 

 As part of my art studies, I completed a skull sculpture cement with paint (2020) and self-portrait painting on canvas with acrylic paint (2021). Also, Gundam samurai ronin (2019), self-portrait/covid (2021), love and death still life acrylic painting on canvas (2018).  

In 2017 I was commissioned to create a portrait illustration of my dad and grandad, and a portrait illustration of a woman and dog in 2021. 

I expect to complete my Diploma Visual Arts from Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) in 2022, and I have a Certificate IV in Visual Arts from CIT (2019). I graduated from Lake Tuggeranong College in 2017.
